What would you do if you lost your very best friend in the whole world and you were firmly convinced it was your fault? What would you do if you felt like you could have stopped the death of your very best friend? And what if there might be something more to your friend’s death than you could ever have imagined?
Shannon Dittemore’s Angel Eyes is a brilliant young adult novel that brings the questions above into stark reality for Brielle, a ballerina haunted by her recent past. For Brielle, everything is terrifying, everything is a reason to be suspect. Everyone can see the shame, everyone knows she didn’t do what she should have to stop her best friend from being killed. At least, that’s how Brielle sees it.
Enter Jake, a boy that seems to mysteriously appear in town when she’s around – and be where she is. A boy that Brielle can’t seem to get enough of being around. And then add in the presence of an Angel and what can only be described as a Demon, and you’ve got a mixture that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I have to say that I loved this book. It was a great read, kept me guessing, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m not going to spoil it for you though – you’ll have to read it for yourself. I will say this about though – I can’t wait for the second book to arrive. If it is anywhere near as good as this book, we’re all in for a treat!
5 out of 5 stars!
